The BAULS believe that the person of its heart or the Supreme Soul resides in the heart of every human being, and therefore Baul sadhana speaks of human love. One of the steps of this sadhana is song, in which the secret bodily practices of the Bauls are carefully hidden. The Baul group does not accept the prevailing customs, marriage customs, or caste-caste differences of the mainstream society, so they were once seen as deviant in the eyes of society. But their extraordinary melodious songs removed the veil of anonymity from this once socially averse group and established a connection with the mainstream society.
