Product Overview

In today’s world, Afghanistan is an enigma in terms of democracy, human rights, and socio-economic standards. The country bears witness to advanced civilization while repeatedly suffering from external attacks. The nation that the world’s major military powers tried to subdue by promising the dream of a modern society, and sought to dominate politically, has itself been reduced to dust. Afghanistan is thus truly called “the slaughterground of empires. ” This book is an attempt to uncover Afghanistan. In addition to analyzing the country’s political context and recent events, it discusses issues related to Afghan women, refugees, migration, and cinema. A distinctively theatrical style enriches the book, presenting readers with a different Afghanistan, one where pain exists alongside a flowing river of love like the Ghantu River. The authors are all actively engaged in research on various aspects of Afghanistan. This research-based book is written in simple language, appealing both to scholars and general readers alike.
