Iskul Na Paliye

Children are often threatened that if they misbehave, they will be sent to a hostel. As if that is a punishment. There are situations where children are sent to hostels even out of family obligations. Many people also go to hostels to learn life lessons. Are hostels good or bad? This book is a snapshot of the unique adolescence of an alumnus of Purulia Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth. Hundreds of teenagers are surrounded by some teachers, monks, and workers. No companionship from parents, no fans in the hostel, no tutors for every subject. Yet, the excellent results in exams, the strange chemistry between teacher and student, and mischief with friends - like a lifetime. A story of coming together. Just as the diverse characters of school life are captured in the short writings, the environment there or even a mere moment becomes a character.
